You may ask yourself, “why has Pete has recreated Oasis’ iconic Definitely Maybe album cover with a load of penguins?” Well, the answer to the question lies in the artist’s professional cartoonist roots before he became a painter. Pete used to create cartoons for greetings card companies, the Sheffield Telegraph and A View from the East Bank, a Sheffield Wednesday fanzine. However, even when Pete stopped working as a cartoonist, he continued to sketch and draw doodles whenever inspiration hit. The artist began drawing a series of hilarious and adorable penguins as famous characters on beermats, paying homage to characters from some of his favourite films and bands, including Oasis!
